PROJECT: GearUp develops and markets speciality wood finishing products for the repair and restoration of stringed instrument- guitars, violins etc. Launched in 2013 the company found success and began selling to boutique luthiers around the country. Needing to expand into the larger market of furniture restoration and repair designojo was hired to reposition the brand. It was determined that the GearUp name and packaging created confusion within the larger woodworking category and that the brands assets needed to change.
WHAT WE DID: designojo conducted a category audit and recommended that the company name change to GluBoost (GearUps flagship product) and a redesign of the packaging was needed to eliminate its focus on the stringed instrument repair market. The design deliverables included a brand logo, packaging, web design and related marketing materials.
